BIOGRAPHY

Darrin grew up in the sunny California Bay Area. From the early age of six he was active in martial arts, gymnastics, football, baseball, and acting classes. Darrin wanted to do it all! At eleven he was cast as young William Blake in Outside Blakes Window. The show toured throughout California.

In high school, Darrin pursued his love for music by playing trumpet in the marching band and singing in the school choir. In his senior year he performed in his first musical Guys and Dolls playing the crafty gambler, Sky Masterson. It was at this time that Darrin developed his love for musical theater.

After high school he began performing in local community productions. His credits included lead and principle roles such as Tony in “West Side Story”, Danny in “Grease”, Cinderella’s Prince in “Into the Woods” , and Billy Lawler in 42nd Street.

In addition to community theater, Darrin attended De Anza College where he received an AA degree in Film and Television and worked at the college television station. He wrote, directed, edited and performed in several short films, commercials, and television shows. Directing is another skill and passion in which he is interested.

Darrin next furthered his training at the American Musical Theater (AMT) Arts Institute in San Jose and also the Foothill College Theatre Conservatory. It was during this time he was hired by AMT as the lead in it's Bay Area School Touring Show for two consecutive years.

Darrin strung together a series of professional shows all within a year's time. The first was AMT's production of On the 20th Century where he shared the stage with JoAnne Worley, of "Laugh-In" fame. Next he had a supporting role and was the understudy for the lead role in TheatreWorks production of Memphis. There he got to work with David Bryan, keyboardist for Bon Jovi. Darrin then performed in Children of Eden at the Willows Theatre in Concord and then finishing up the year playing trumpet and understudying the Richie Valens character in The Buddy Holly Story at the Post Street Theatre in San Francisco.

But nothing could have prepared Darrin for his next opportunity. He was cast in “Steve Silver’s Beach Blanket Babylon”!... San Francisco’s 30 year hit musical revue. For a year and a half, Darrin played every crazy wacky character you can imagine from Mr. Peanut, a French Poodle, Richard Simmons, Tom Cruise, and who could forget the tap dancing Christmas Tree!!

Darrin continues to build his acting skills studying with renowned instructor, Richard Seyd in San Francisco. Acting, singing, dancing, and music are his life and he wants to push his talents to the limit. Darrin's future goals include performing on Broadway, movies, television and directing.
